George S. Langan: Former President of Project C.A.F.E.
Elected president
of Project C.A.F.E. in 2014, George S. Langan was responsible for leading the
largest student-run civic/charity organization in the Cazenovia, New York area.
Project
C.A.F.E. (Community Activities for Everyone) is a student-directed, non-profit
organization that promotes drug and alcohol free activities, music, art,
community service, and scholarships in the Cazenovia, New York area. With
overwhelming support from the community and numerous and diverse programs
involving youths and adults, Project C.A.F.E. is committed to improving the
quality of life of community members throughout the Cazenovia area in many
unique ways.
One of the
many services Project C.A.F.E. has provided to the community is an after school
care program to middle and high school students who reside in the Cazenovia
School District. This free program provided a safe after school environment for
many students.
Another
community service provided by Project C.A.F.E. is their Earth Day Clean Up.
This annual spring project always has a strong turnout and helps keep the
Cazenovia community a beautiful place to live.
Tasked with
organizing Cazenovia's annual July 4th parade, George S. Langan and
his predecessors are responsible for coordinating with many community leaders
and organizations (e.g., local fire departments, businesses, and sports teams)
to make the parade a success and Project C.A.F.E. members organize a park clean
up on July 5th.
